Like Kim, his wife and aunt are influential in North Korea's sphere of influence.

A footage broadcast on North Korean state television shows Kim Jong Un's wife, Ri Sol Joo, and Kim's aunt, Kim Young Hui, attending a painting competition at an art gallery in the capital, Pyongyang, called the Mansuday Art Theater. This East Asian country is now having a lunar New Year holiday.

Many have been surprised to see these two members of the Kim family, the most influential in North Korea's sphere of power, in public. Because in the Corona epidemic they are not seen very much outside.

Earlier, on September 9 last year, Kim's wife Ri Sol Jook was seen in public. That day was the founding anniversary of North Korea and she went to Kumsusan Palace with her husband Kim Jong Un. Kim's father and grandfather are buried in that palace.

North Korea's state-run news agency, The Korean Central News Agency (KCNA), reported that on Wednesday, Kim Jong Un, accompanied by his wife, Ri Sol Joo, arrived at the auditorium of the Art Theater and was greeted with a standing ovation. At that time the welcome music was played to the mic there.

As seen in the TV footage, Ri Sol appeared in traditional Korean attire in red and black. The video also shows her laughing with her husband Kim. Later, they got up on stage, shook hands with the artists and took pictures.

Earlier, in February 2021, Reisol was by Kim's side at a New Year's Eve party. He appeared in public at the time, after a long absence from public view.

Kim's aunt Kim Young Hui is also seen in this video clip. The former senior official of North Korea's ruling Workers' Party was seen attending the first public event since January 2020. In the video, he is seen sitting next to Re Sol, enjoying the concert.

Kim Jong Un played a key role in the early years of Kim Jong Un's tenure as North Korea's supreme leader after his father's death. However, Kim Jong Un has not been seen in public since Kim ordered the execution of her husband, Zhang Sang Thaek, in 2013.

At the end of six and a half years, he appeared in front of everyone in a very wonderful way. And this is the second time in almost a decade that Ellen Kim's influential aunt has been released on Wednesday.
