Kurigram Correspondent: The family has not received a trial for Felani's murder in 11 years. Friday, January 8, marks the 11th anniversary of the killing of Nageshwari teenager Felani by BSF at Phulbari border in Kurigram. It may be mentioned that on January 8, 2011, Felani was returning home with her father by climbing a ladder along the side of International Sub-Pillar No. 948 at the northern Anantapur border of Fulbari Upazila. Amiya Ghosh, a BSF member of the patrolling Chowdhuryhat camp, shot him.

He died in it. After death his body hangs on a barbed wire; The trial of Felani's murder began on August 13, 2013 at the General Security Forces Court at the 181st BSF headquarters in Kochbihar district. On September 5, accused BSF member Amiya Ghosh was acquitted. Rejecting the verdict, Felani's father sent a letter to the Indian government through the Indian High Commission on September 11, hoping for justice. Although the re-trial started on 22 September 2014, it was postponed more than once due to various reasons. Also, in the case of 27 September 2013, Felani's father Nurul Islam was the first and Advocate Salma Ali, the president of Bangladesh National Women Lawyers' Association, was the plaintiff. He filed a criminal case under Article 32 of the Indian Constitution in the Supreme Court of India against the Secretary to the Ministry of Justice (Union of India) and the Director General of the BSF. On July 21, 2015, they filed another petition for interim compensation for Felani's father. In this regard, Advocate Salma Ali, President of Bangladesh National Women Lawyers Association, said on her mobile phone, I am publishing. Hopefully we will get the desired justice. In addition, in 2015, the Law and Arbitration Center and the Human Rights Protection Forum of India filed another compensation case.

On August 31, the National Human Rights Commission of India requested the government to pay five lakh rupees as compensation to Felani's family. In response, the country's Interior Ministry blamed Felani's father, Nurul Islam. Then in 2016 and 17 the hearing was postponed several times. Later, the date of hearing was fixed on January 25, 2016, but the hearing has not taken place yet. Public Prosecutor (PP) Advocate Abraham Lincoln of the Kurigram District Judge's Court, a member of the Bangladesh delegation to the Felani murder case, said the Indian Supreme Court was operating virtually in Corona. As a result, the Felani murder case is not being heard.

We want a virtual hearing but the relationship between the two countries will be even stronger. A speedy disposal of the case would be beneficial for both the states. Felani’s father Nurul Islam and mother Jahanara Begum expressed frustration, saying, ‘I have approached many people, including human rights organizations, seeking justice for my daughter’s murder, but have not received the desired justice in 11 years.
