Before taking up a project, consider how much it will contribute to public welfare: PM

News desk:  Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has ordered to consider how much it will be useful for the welfare of the people before accepting the project.

He gave this order while observing the presentation regarding the Roads and Public Roads Department's activities outline for the construction of Smart Bangladesh 2041 at Ganobhaban on Tuesday (May 7).

Later, Prime Minister's Deputy Press Secretary KM Shakhawat Moon briefed the reporters.

Sheikh Hasina said that in the case of each project, how much improvement will be done, how much it will be useful for the people of the country should be considered first.

He said, we should do the development in such a way - our capacity will also increase, dependency will decrease, we can reach the result among the people.

Prime Minister said, now our time has come that 2021 to 2041. Keeping this in mind, the first thing we have to consider in every plan is how much our economic activities will be accelerated, how much the local people will improve. What will be the result of spending so much money?

The event was attended by others - Minister of Road Transport and Bridges Obaidul Quader, Chief Secretary to the Prime Minister Md. Tofazzal Hossain Mia, Road Transport and Highways Department Secretary ABM Amin Ullah Noori.
