2 people including the driver of a pickup van were killed in a bus accident in the capital

News Desk:  Two people including the driver of a pickup van were killed in a bus collision at Jatrabari in the capital. The accident took place on the road in front of Matuail Mother and Child Hospital on the Dhaka-Chittagong highway around 2:30 am on Sunday. 

The deceased are Babul Chishti (45) and the name of the other person is not known. He is about 50 years old. 

The two were rescued and taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where doctors declared them dead early in the morning.

Jatrabari Police Station Deputy Inspector (SI) Abu Sayem said that a pickup van was taking a U-turn on the Dhaka-Chittagong highway in front of Matuail Mother and Child Hospital around 2:30 am. A Tuhin Transport bus then rammed the van into a pickup. The pickup van overturned and the bus fell into the nearby ditch. After getting the news, they went to the spot and found that the locals took the two out of the pickup van and kept them on the road. They were then taken to the hospital. There the doctor declared them dead.

He also said that there were some passengers in that bus at the time of the accident. However, as they were slightly injured, they left the local hospital without first aid. The deceased Babul Chishti was the driver of the pickup van. And the name and occupation of the person sitting on the seat next to him is not known. The bodies have been kept in Dhaka Medical College Mortuary.

Meanwhile, Nargis Akhtar, the wife of deceased Babul Chishti, said that Babul's house is in Samantsha village of Gosairhat upazila of Shariatpur. Father's name is Abdur Rashid Akon. Lives in Mridhabari area of ​​Jatrabari with family. He drives a pickup van on rent. He left home around 1 o'clock last night. When he left, he said that Jatrabari would go fishing. From there he was supposed to go somewhere with fish in a pickup van. However, the family heard the news of his accident through the police early in the morning.
