Martyred Intellectuals Day is celebrated in Bashemurabiprabi

Shaheed Sheikh Mujibur Rahman University of Science and Technology (BASHEMURBIPRABI) has celebrated Martyred Intellectuals' Day with due dignity. General Secretary of the Teachers Association at the meeting. Md. Abu Saleh's presentation was presided over by Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. AQM Mahbub.

In his speech, Vice-Chancellor Prof. AQM Mahbub said intellectuals are one of the main assets of a country. The shortage of intellectuals who were martyred during the great war of independence is irreparable. But we also need to pay attention to the current intellectuals. So that they can devote themselves to the service of the country without going to the bill due to lack of proper evaluation. At the same time he wished peace to the souls of all the martyrs.

Proctor also said in the meeting. Md. Raziur Rahman, President of Sociology Department Md. Majnur Rashid, Provost of Independence Day Hall Md. Abdur Rahman, Joint General Secretary of Teachers Association Shamsul Arefin and teachers and students of different departments spoke.

Speakers at the meeting gratefully recalled the contribution of martyred intellectuals in the establishment of Bangladesh. Students-teachers, officials-employees of the university were present on the occasion.

Earlier at half past nine in the morning, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Under the leadership of AQM Mahbub, tributes were paid from various departments and organizations at the Shaheed Memorial on the bank of Joybangla Pond in the Upazila Chattar and at the Shaheed Minar on the campus at 10 am.

In addition, a prayer mahfil was organized at the central mosque of the university after Zohar and special prayers were held at the temple in the afternoon to wish peace to the souls of the martyred intellectuals.
