Strict measures for extra rent: Obaidul Quader

News Desk: Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader has reminded the transport owners and workers not to collect extra fare from the passengers in any way and said that the government will be forced to take strict action in the public interest if it breaks its promise in this regard.

During a briefing at his residence on Monday (November 8), the Minister of Road Transport and Bridges issued a stern warning to transport owners and workers.

He said the increased fare would not apply to gas octane and petrol vehicles.

Obaidul Quader also said that the Home Minister is taking initiative to resolve the truck-covered van strike with the concerned leaders.

Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader said in response to various statements of BNP leaders, there is no terrible situation in the country.

He said the government has taken a strong stand against communal evils, corruption and irregularities in the public interest.

The Awami League general secretary said that the government's stance against those who looted the people's resources was naturally harsh.

He said undemocratic dictatorships have infiltrated politics in this country, they have corrupted politics and BNP will never be able to avoid this responsibility.

Obaidul Quader said, "It is time to unmask the patriotic freedom fighters and army officers who killed the great hero of the liberation war and ran the state against the spirit of independence."

Obaidul Quader said that the BNP wants to cover the sky with the palm of its hand but the truth will be revealed and the flood of truth is irresistible.

Obaidul Quader said that all the conspiratorial incidents that took place from November 3 to November 8, 1975 have not been made public.

BNP leaders have said that their leaders and activists are being harassed. In this context, the general secretary of Awami League said that those who attacked the mandapa, set fire to it, those who wanted to destroy communal harmony are patriots in the language of BNP.

Mentioning that the BNP is trying to save the accused as patriotic activists, Obaidul Quader further said that the law enforcement agencies are taking action against those who attacked the puja mandapa after watching the video footage.
