News Desk: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, who is in London, is monitoring the situation of rising fuel prices in the country, said Obaidul Quader, Minister for Road Transport and Bridges and General Secretary of Awami League.

He said that despite the reluctance of the government to curb the rise in prices in the international market and the smuggling of fuel to neighboring countries, the prices of diesel and kerosene have been re-fixed. However, in this case, the Sheikh Hasina government always takes the issue of public interest seriously. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, who is in London, is monitoring the situation regarding rising fuel prices in the country.

He made the remarks at a briefing at his residence on Saturday morning.

The BRTA's fare rescheduling committee meeting will be attended by representatives of transport owners and other stakeholders on Sunday.

He said that everyone, including the concerned government agencies, should be vigilant so that no one could unjustly increase the price of goods and transport fares on the pretext of price adjustment.

Obaidul Quader again appealed to the transport owners and labor leaders to call off the strike considering the issue of suffering of the people including examinees, job seekers and transportation of goods.
