JOB Correspondent: A student of Jagannath University (JU) died while undergoing treatment at Chittagong Medical College Hospital four days after he was seriously injured after falling from a flyover in Chittagong.

Chittagong Khulshi Police Station OC Mohammad Shahinuzzaman confirmed that he died in the ICU of Chittagong Medical College Hospital around 4.50 am on Wednesday (September 1). He said a case has been filed anonymously from the family in the incident.

Earlier on Friday (August 28), Khulshi police rescued the student from the GOS junction while he was falling from the flyover in Chittagong and admitted him to Chittagong Medical College Hospital. Doctors later took him to the ICU.

The student named Akbar Hossain Khan is a 2017-18 student of the management department of the university. His village home is in Moulvibazar Sadar. He lived with some students of Jagannath University in a mess house in Kaltabazar, Old Dhaka.

"He left home on Friday morning with a bag and a laptop," said Mostakim, a 13-batch student at the same university. Mess has told everyone he's talked to all day that he'll be back in the night, but he hasn't told anyone exactly where he is. Speaking at 9.37 last night, he also said he would come home. After some time, we got a call around 9.54 pm. He fell from the flyover and was admitted to Chittagong Medical College in critical condition. He had a bag, phone, money but the laptop was not found. '

Asked if there were any abnormalities in Akbar's behavior, Mess members said, "He has been depressed for some time. I broke up with my girlfriends. That's why we didn't think he was in such a bad mental state. '

Khulshi Police Station OC Mohammad Shahinuzzaman said, 'A case has been filed from his family, we are investigating. It remains to be seen whether there are any criminal accounts.

He added, '4 days ago, the boy fell down from the Chittagong GOS junction flyover. Later, the police went to the spot and rescued him in a bloody condition behind his head and admitted him to Chittagong Medical College Hospital. '

University Proctor. Mostafa Kamal said, 'After falling from the flyover and in critical condition, he was in ICU for life support at Chittagong Medical College. He died at 4.50 am today. Police are collecting CCTV footage in the vicinity of the flyover to investigate what happened. As soon as we came to know about the incident, we talked to all concerned including the hospital and the police station. I talked to the people he used to mess with. The police are looking into the matter very sincerely.
