Jabir pays homage to the portrait of Bangabandhu on the day of mourning

JOB Correspondent: On the occasion of 'National Mourning Day-2021 and 47th Martyrdom Anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman', tributes have been paid to the portrait of Bangabandhu at Jagannath University (JU). On Sunday (August 15) at 10 o'clock in the morning, the Vice Chancellor of Jagannath University, Prof. Dr. Imdadul Haque.

At the University Treasurer Professor. Kamaluddin Ahmed, President of Jagannath University Teachers Association, Registrar, Proctor, Assistant Proctor and other teacher leaders were present. Also present were teachers, students, journalists and university officials from different departments of the university.

After that, tributes were paid to each other by Jagannath University Teachers' Association, Chhatri Hall, Nildal, various departments of the university and various student organizations related to the campus. At this time, on 15 August, silence was observed in memory of the victims.

Like last year, this year too, due to the epidemic of Corona Virus (Kevid-19) situation, a limited number of events were organized to comply with government hygiene rules and maintain social distance.

A prayer mahfil has been organized at the University Mosque after Zohar on the occasion of Mourning Day. The prayers will be offered on 15 August 1975 for the souls of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the father of the Bengali nation, the best Bengali of the millennium and the great architect of independent Bangladesh, his family and others. In the morning, the national flag was hoisted at half-mast on the occasion of National Mourning Day and black flags were hoisted and black badges were held.

It is to be noted that on this day in 1975, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the greatest Bengali of all time, the architect of Bangladesh and the father of the nation, was assassinated along with his family. This day is the national day of mourning of Bengalis. Today, on Sunday (August 15), the National Mourning Day, the nation will remember the Father of the Nation with reverence in the heart of mourning.
