Government is not dependent on bureaucrats, public interest is dependent: Quader

Awami League general secretary and bridge minister Obaidul Quader has claimed that the government is not dependent on bureaucrats but on public interest. He made the remarks at a discussion on August 15 at the Diploma Engineers Institution of Bangladesh (IDEB) auditorium in the capital's Kakrail on Wednesday (August 11th).

Obaidul Quader said, "As soon as the month of August came, I could smell conspiracy in the air of Bengal." Red blood appeared in the morning sky.

The general secretary of the Awami League said that the August 15 killings were the most barbaric and cruel in the history of the world.

Addressing the leaders and workers of Swechchhasebak League, he said, what did you learn from Bangabandhu? Today, I call on the Volunteer League to teach people the politics of love. Bangabandhu was a unique symbol of honesty and courage. Whoever has these two weapons will have victory.

At that time Obaidul Quader said, we have not got the complete history of independence yet. The objective and complete history of independence is the demand of the new generation, the demand of the time.

Asked if the government bureaucrats have become dependent, the Awami League general secretary said, "I want to say, we still have everything in one place." The government decides, the politicians decide, and the bureaucrats implement. This government is not bureaucrat dependent, it is people oriented and public interest dependent.

He said permanent lockdown is not a solution. Everything will come under control easily if we are aware.

Regarding the ferry collision on the Padma bridge, the bridge minister said, punishment has been given for incompetence. But it is not incompetence - it is sabotage, we have to look into it.

Awami League presidium member Abdur Rahman, who took part in the discussion, said the August 15 conspiracy did not happen in a day. Even today I get various smells. The Swechchhasebak League today was also there. But I did not see any role for them. However, I believe that any conspiracy to have an activist of today's Swachchasebak League will not be successful.

He said that the main thing in politics is to stand by the people during Corona. I will stand by the people by transforming grief into energy. If people get relief and peace, the soul of Bangabandhu and his family will also get peace.

Awami League joint general secretary AFM Bahauddin Nasim said they wanted to convey through August 15 that they had been killed because of the excesses of a family. In fact, it was a blueprint for a conspiracy. They wanted to confuse people. Over time that truth has been revealed. Ziaur Rahman was the mastermind of this incident.

Presided over by Swachchasebak League President Nirmal Ranjan Guha, the event was attended by its co-president Gazi Mesbaul Hossain Sachchu, general secretary AKM Afzalur Rahman Babu and other central and metropolitan leaders.
