Earlier, 195 people died on Saturday, 18 on Friday, 17 on Thursday, 173 on Wednesday, 200 on Tuesday and 231 on Monday. On July 7, for the first time, the death toll in the country exceeded 200. 201 people died on this day.
A statement from the Department of Health said 10,564 people had recovered from Corona in 24 hours. So far, a total of 9 lakh 96 thousand 923 people have recovered.
Samples were collected from 36,982 people in 24 hours. 38 thousand 56 have been tested. The detection rate is 30.04 percent compared to the sample test. So far, a total of 64 lakh 55 thousand 261 samples have been tested in the country. Compared to the total test, the detection rate is 15.62 percent.
Of those killed in the last 24 hours, 79 were from Dhaka division. Besides, 50 people died in Khulna, 40 in Chittagong, 21 in Rajshahi, 6 in Barisal, 11 in Sylhet, 18 in Rangpur and 15 in Mymensingh.
Of those killed in the last 24 hours, 125 were men and 103 were women. 14 of them died at home. The rest died at the hospital. So far, 13,199 males and 7,065 females have died from the virus.
The age-based analysis showed that 111 of those who died in the last 24 hours were over 60 years of age. In addition, 50 people aged 51 to 60, 34 people aged 41 to 50, 22 people aged 31 to 40, 8 people aged 21 to 30, 2 people aged 11 to 20 and 1 person aged less than 10 died.
On March 8 last year, the first 3 people in the country were diagnosed with coronavirus. Ten days later, on March 17, the first person in the country died of the virus.
