" KUBI " has passed a budget of Tk 57 crore for the new financial year

CUBI Representative: Comilla University (CUBI) 70th Syndicate Meeting, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Under the presidency of Emran Kabir Chowdhury, a budget of Tk 571 million has been passed for the fiscal year 2021-22. On Sunday (June 26) evening, the budget was presented in the conference room of the university administrative building, Treasurer Professor. Md. Asaduzzaman.

Earlier, the proposed budget was recommended at the 46th meeting of the Finance Committee (FC) of the university on June 22. This information was given in a press release sent from the public relations department of the university.

According to the press release, the revised budget for the financial year 2020-21 was approved at Rs 51.63 crore and the original budget for the financial year 2021-22 was approved at Rs 57.01 crore. Compared to the revised budget 2020-21, the budget for the fiscal year 2021-22 has increased by 10% overall. Government allocation for FY 2021-22 has increased by 16% as compared to the revised budget allocation for FY 2020-21. More allocations have been made to improve the quality of education, increase research knowledge and develop free thinking. Compared to the fiscal year 2020-21, in the financial year 2021-22, 70% more money has been allocated for seminars and conferences, 50% for field work and educational tours, 25% for research sector and completely new allocations have been made for scholarships / merit scholarships for students.

University Treasurer Professor. Md. Asaduzzaman said about the budget, 'The way we are moving forward during this epidemic, I hope we can fully implement this budget. We were able to implement about 90% of last year's budget. In some cases there are interruptions during the coronary period. UGC usually pays the salaries of teachers and staff in such budgets. And if the salary is alive, everyone will get it. The rest is for development. And development means furniture and instruments of different departments. '
