News Desk: Good news has come for Bangladeshi applicants waiting for family-based green cards in the United States. In the August 2026 Visa Bulletin, there has been significant progress in the F-2A category of family-based immigrant visas. Spouses of U.S. lawful permanent residents or green card holders and unmarried children under the age of 21 are included in this category.

According to the August Visa Bulletin of the U.S. Department of State, the Final Action Date for the F-2A category has advanced from January 1, 2025, to July 22, 2026. This means that in just one month, this cutoff date has advanced by more than a year and a half. This date also applies to Bangladeshi applicants.

According to information from the U.S. Department of State, the Final Action Date published in the Visa Bulletin basically determines for applicants with which priority dates immigrant visas can be issued. The National Visa Center has also stated that, in numerically limited family-based visa categories, an applicant’s priority date must be current or effective for the applicant to be interviewed.
