News Desk: Significant diversity is observed in the size of cabinets across various countries, driven by administrative structures, geopolitics, and systems of governance.

​Despite having vast land areas and huge populations, some countries govern with relatively small cabinets, while others operate through large or "mega-cabinets." Recent updated data on global governance shows that the type of government—such as parliamentary versus presidential systems—plays a key role in determining cabinet size.

​Despite being a vast country with a massive economy, the United States, under a presidential system, has a cabinet of just 23 members. Germany’s cabinet under its Chancellor consists of 17 ministers. Similarly, in the United Kingdom's parliamentary system, the Cabinet led by the Prime Minister has 22 ministers.

​In East Asian superpower Japan, the Prime Minister-led cabinet has 20 members. On the other hand, the presidential government of Middle Eastern country Türkiye has a 19-member cabinet. In China, the world's most populous nation, the State Council led by the Premier has at least 35 full members or minister-level officials who serve as the core drivers of administrative and executive functions.

​In South and Southeast Asia, a trend toward forming relatively large cabinets is observed. India, the world's largest democracy, has a total of 72 members under the Prime Minister, including union ministers and ministers of state.

​In Southeast Asian island nation Indonesia, the massive cabinet formed under the President consists of 109 members, making it one of the largest cabinets globally. Pakistan's parliamentary system features a 55-member cabinet led by the Prime Minister.

​Bangladesh, a key country in South Asia, follows an administrative structure under the leadership of the Prime Minister within a parliamentary system. Currently, the cabinet in the country has 54 members, including the Prime Minister.

​Overall, it is evident that each nation determines its administrative scale based on constitutional mandates and political necessities suited to its needs.
