Directorate of National Consumer Rights Protection conducts drive in Lalmonirhat.

Lalmonirhat Correspondent: A drive has been conducted by the Directorate of National Consumer Rights Protection (DNCRP) in Lalmonirhat.

​On Monday morning, the drive was carried out at various shops selling child food items, including Padma Koli Sweets, Haji Biryani House, and Golpokotha Fast Food Restaurant in Lalmonirhat district.

​During the drive, expired and substandard child food items—such as chocolates, jellies, chips, counterfeit oral rehydration salts (ORS), and adulterated food items mixed with artificial colors—were found. These items were later destroyed, and fines were imposed on the business establishments for storing adulterated products. Mohammad Sheikh Sadi, Assistant Director of the district consumer protection department, led the operation. Fines totaling BDT 10,000 were imposed on two business establishments for irregularities.

​Tauhidul Islam Liton, General Secretary of the Consumers Association of Bangladesh (CAB), Lalmonirhat, along with members of law enforcement agencies, were also present during the drive.

​Mohammad Sheikh Sadi, Assistant Director of DNCRP Lalmonirhat, stated, "Our routine drives are ongoing. Alongside issuing fines, awareness leaflets are being distributed to traders, and guidance is being provided regarding business laws and regulations."
