Weekly holidays decreasing in educational institutions

News Desk: Considering the global energy crisis, severe traffic congestion, and the realities of a future technology-based education system, the Ministry of Education has decided to reintroduce online classes similar to the COVID-19 period. However, this time a blended approach combining both online and offline classes will be implemented.
Education Minister Dr. A N M Ehsanul Haque Milon stated that this will not be rolled out in all schools simultaneously; instead, it will start on a trial basis in selected institutions based on their capacity. He also announced that weekly Saturday holidays will be suspended. The announcement was made at a press conference on Thursday (April 9) at the International Mother Language Institute in Dhaka.
The minister said that the trial phase of this blended system will begin next week, starting with institutions like Viqarunnisa Noon School and College.
According to the plan, classes will be held six days a week—three days online and three days in-person. Specifically, in-person classes will take place on Saturday, Monday, and Wednesday, while online classes will be held on Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday. Friday will remain the weekly holiday. Teachers will attend the institutions physically to conduct the classes. The blended system will only be implemented in institutions capable of adopting this method.
