News Desk: The Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examinations will begin nationwide from Tuesday (April 21). Exams will start every day at 10:00 AM. The theoretical exams will continue until May 20, while practical exams must be completed between June 7 and June 14.

The schedule was published on January 15, signed by SM Kamal Uddin Haider, Controller of Examinations of the Dhaka Education Board, and convener of the Inter-Education Board Examination Controllers Committee.

According to the guidelines, examinees must follow 14 instructions, including:

  • Students must take their seats at least 30 minutes before the exam starts.
  • Exams must be conducted strictly according to the time mentioned in the question paper.
  • Multiple-choice (MCQ) tests will be held first, followed by creative/written (theoretical) exams, with no break in between.
  • Admit cards must be collected from respective institutions at least three days before the exam.
  • Marks for subjects like Physical Education, Health Science, and Career Education will be provided through continuous assessment as per the National Curriculum and Textbook Board (NCTB) guidelines.
  • Students must correctly fill in the roll number, registration number, and subject code on the OMR sheet, and must not fold the answer sheet.
  • Passing separately in the MCQ, written, and practical sections is mandatory.
  • Candidates can only sit for subjects listed in their registration.
  • Admit cards must be distributed at least seven days before exams; otherwise, the institution head will be responsible.
  • Only board-approved calculators are allowed.
  • No one except the center secretary can bring or use mobile phones in the exam hall.
  • A single attendance sheet will be used for all parts of the exam.
  • Practical exams will be held at the respective centers.
  • Re-scrutiny applications must be submitted online within seven days after results are published.

Typically, SSC exams are held in February and HSC exams in April, but due to the current situation, this schedule has been shifted for both last year and this year.

If you’re sitting for SSC, keep it simple: show up early, don’t mess up the OMR, and manage your time between MCQ and written—those small things matter more than people think.
