Inauguration of the 30th Book Fair in Ulipur

Kurigram Representative: "Let the Ulipur Book Fair be the meeting place of literary culture of the Northern region" - keeping this strong slogan in front, the traditional 30th Ulipur Book Fair has started in Ulipur of Kurigram. The seven-day long fair was auspiciously inaugurated on Saturday (April 4) at 11 a.m. at Ulipur Vijay Manch Chatwar.

The fair organized by the Ulipur Friends Fair was inaugurated by the freedom fighter Mr. Golam Mostafa. At the very beginning of the program, the formalities started with the hoisting of the national and organization flags, which was followed by the opening discussion meeting.

Barrister Mahbubul Alam Salehi, Member of Parliament for Kurigram 3 (Ulipur) Constituency, spoke virtually as the chief guest at the event.

Zeyadul Islam, member of the convening committee of the Executive Council of Friends Fair, delivered the opening speech at the meeting, committee member Zulfikar Ali. Academy Residential School founder director AKM Safiqul Islam Dara teacher Tasnuva Chowdhury Esha spoke as a special guest on the occasion. Tasfia Tasnim Jajas, Member of Volunteer Council of Friends Fair conducted the inaugural function.

This ancient and traditional book fair, which is one of Rangpur division's daily programs, has various subject-based competitions for school and college level students.
Every evening interesting cultural programs and plays with the participation of local and invited cultural organizations.

Notably, this book fair organized by Ulipur Friends Fair is universally recognized as the pioneer of book fairs in Bangladesh. The organizing authorities have expressed hope that the fair will be full of local book lovers and culture-minded people for the next seven days.
