Diplomatic Correspondent: Pakistan High Commissioner to Bangladesh Imran Haider visited Daffodil International University (DIU) in Dhaka and held a meeting with its Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. M. R. Kabir.
During the meeting, the High Commissioner congratulated the Vice Chancellor on DIU’s remarkable achievements and recognition in various international university rankings.
Recalling his visit to Pakistan, Prof. Dr. M. R. Kabir appreciated the quality and diversity of higher education offered by Pakistani universities, particularly in the fields of science and technology. He observed that there is significant scope for expanding academic and institutional cooperation between universities of Bangladesh and Pakistan.
High Commissioner Imran Haider reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening educational cooperation with Bangladesh. He briefed the Vice Chancellor on various initiatives being undertaken under the Pakistan-Bangladesh Knowledge Corridor.
Both sides agreed to promote institutional linkages between Daffodil International University and leading Pakistani universities, particularly in the fields of information technology (IT), artificial intelligence (AI), robotics and solar technology.
The proposed cooperation would include joint research initiatives as well as faculty and student exchange programmes, with a view to further strengthening academic ties between the two countries.
Following the meeting, High Commissioner Imran Haider and Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. M. R. Kabir visited various departments and facilities of Daffodil International University.
