Diplomatic Correspondent: President of the Bangladesh Knitwear Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BKMEA), Mohammad Hatem, received Pakistan High Commissioner to Bangladesh Imran Haider at the BKMEA office in Dhaka on Sunday for a bilateral meeting aimed at strengthening trade and commercial cooperation between Bangladesh and Pakistan.
Several directors of BKMEA were also present at the meeting.
The discussions focused on implementing activities under the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between BKMEA and the Pakistan Hosiery Manufacturers and Exporters Association (PHMA), as well as exploring opportunities to organize joint business-to-business (B2B) meetings.
During the meeting, BKMEA President Mohammad Hatem invited Pakistani companies to participate in the upcoming Bangladesh International Textile, Knitting and Garment Industry Exhibition, scheduled to be held in Dhaka in January 2027.
He said greater participation by Pakistani companies could contribute to deeper cooperation and stronger supply-chain linkages between the two countries’ textile and garment industries.
High Commissioner Imran Haider assured the BKMEA President of the Pakistan High Commission’s full cooperation in promoting bilateral trade, business-to-business engagement and broader commercial collaboration between Bangladesh and Pakistan.
