Publication of medical admission test notification

News Desk: The Department of Health Education has published the notification of admission in the first year MBBS course in government and private medical colleges in the academic year 2020-2021.

The notification signed by AKM Ahsan Habib said that according to the admission policy of Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council, online application will start from 12 noon on February 11 and will continue till 11:59 pm on March 1.

The application form has to be filled as per the instructions of the Department of Health Education by depositing one thousand rupees through Teletalk Prepaid SIM. The notification further said that those who have passed SSC or equivalent examination in 2016 or 2017 and HSC or equivalent examination in 2019 or 2020 (including Physics, Chemistry and Biology) can apply for admission.

However, students who have passed SSC or equivalent examination before 2018 will not be considered eligible to apply. The total GPA in SSC or equivalent and HSC or equivalent examinations in education programs conducted in the country or abroad should be at least 9.

In case of candidates from minority ethnic groups and hill districts, the total GPA in SSC or equivalent and HSC or equivalent examinations should be at least 8. In addition, everyone must have a minimum grade point of 3.50 in HSC or equivalent examination in Biology.

The test number 100 will be held on April 2 from 10 am to 11 am. One hundred MCQ questions (value 1 each) will have 20 marks in Physics, 25 marks in Chemistry, 30 marks in Biology, 15 marks in English and 10 marks in General Knowledge, History and Liberation War.

In the 2020-2021 academic year, the total marks of the candidates who have passed the previous year's HSC examination in MBBS admission test (15 times the GPA obtained in SSC or equivalent examination, 25 times the GPA obtained in HSC or equivalent examination and the marks obtained in the admission test) are 6.5. Merit list will be made by cutting the number:

Decimal 25 marks can be deducted for each wrong answer in the written test. Must have a minimum score of 40 out of 100 in the written test. If it is less than this, it will be considered as unsuccessful.

Only the successful candidates will be released with the merit list. GPA obtained in SSC and HSC or equivalent examinations will be assessed as a total of 200 marks.

Of these, GPA obtained in SSC or equivalent examination will be 15 times equal to 75 marks and in HSC or equivalent examination GPA will be equal to 75 times equal to 25 times. Merit list will be prepared on the basis of written test.

Bangladeshi nationals residing abroad and students studying at ‘A’ level ‘A’ level can apply online.

In that case they have to apply along with Director Medical Education Health Education Department, Mohakhali, Dhaka with bank draft / pay order of two thousand taka and convert to GPA and get ID number while collecting equivalent certificate.

Attested copy of SSC certificate should be brought along at the time of collection of equivalent certificate. Applicants for Muktijoddha, Minority / Non-Tribal Quota of Hill Tracts / Non-Tribal Quota of Muktijoddha and Tribal / Non-Tribal Certificate of Hill Tracts respectively have to enter the application form online. Otherwise the quotas will not be online entry.
