International Desk: Another 66 people have died due to heavy rains and floods in the East African country of Kenya. With this, the number of people killed in floods in the country increased to 169. Hundreds are still missing.
African-based media Arab Times confirmed this information with reference to Kenyan government spokesman Isaac Mwaura. At the press conference, Isaac Mwaura said that among the 66 people who died, six were children.
More than 30,000 families have been displaced due to floods. And the number of displaced people is about 190 thousand 942 people. The authorities say that many houses have been inundated mainly due to heavy rains and overflowing river water.
Roads are submerged. The communication system is broken. The country's government has announced to bear all hospital expenses for flood victims.
