Eight accused hanged in Shishu Mim murder case

News Desk: A court has ordered the execution of eight accused for raping and killing a child in Chittagong. The judge of the Women and Child Abuse Suppression Tribunal-4 passed the order on Monday. Seven accused were present in the court when the verdict was announced.

The rest is a fugitive. It may be mentioned that on January 21, 2016, the police recovered Meem's body from a house named 'Ayesha Mumtaz Mahal' in Bishwa Colony area under Akbar Shah Police Station in Chittagong. He was a second class student of a local madrasa. The next night (January 22), Meem's mother Rabeya Begum filed a case alleging rape and murder. Five accused in the case on January 25 of that year - Md. Belal Hossain alias Vijay (18), Md. Rabiul Islam alias Rubel (18), Md. Hashibul Islam alias Liton (26), Md. Aksan Mia alias Hasan (18) and Md. Sujan, 20, made a confessional statement under section 164 in the court of Chittagong Metropolitan Magistrate Nazmul Hossain.

At that time, the police said, the child Fatema Akhter Meem was killed after being gang-raped due to a dispute with her mother. Accused Belal Hossain Vijay's mother had a dispute with the child's mother.

Due to this, Vijay picked him up with the connivance of other accused and killed him by suffocation after gang rape.
