Friendship Day celebration of Indian High Commission with colorful arrangements

 Bogra representative:  Friendship Day 2023 was celebrated by Indian High Commission in a colorful arrangement. On Wednesday evening, the Indian Embassy organized a reception on the special day of Bangladesh-India Friendship Day on December 6 at the Indian Cultural Center in the capital's Gulshan.

Prannoy Verma, Indian High Commissioner appointed in Dhaka, highlighted the importance of the day in the lively presence of brave freedom fighters, cultural workers and media workers. He said that India will always stand by Bangladesh's journey of prosperity and development. India recognized Bangladesh as an independent state on December 6, 1971 during the Great War of Liberation. This day is an emotional bond between the people of the two countries. India's people and government played an outstanding role in the liberation war of Bangladesh. The day has also had a major impact on Bangladesh-India relations. Prannoy Verma said that in 2021, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his visit to Bangladesh announced December 6 as friendship day between the two countries. He said that India has stood by the people of Bangladesh and will continue to do so. December 6, 1971 marked the beginning of a relationship that transcended the partnership of the two countries. The future of this relationship is far-reaching. Today, the relationship between the two countries is multifaceted. The future of this relationship is endless.
In order to share the culture of the two countries, interesting cultural programs including rural songs, patriotic songs, dances, poetry recitations, water songs, mixed with their culture and traditions were served.

Note that India recognized Bangladesh on December 6, 1971. The day is officially observed as Friendship Day.
