BNP held Iftar in honor of diplomats of different countries posted in Dhaka

Online Desk: BNP organized Iftar in honor of diplomats of different countries posted in Dhaka. Leaders of the group organized this iftar at Westin Hotel in the capital on Sunday. Ambassadors and High Commission officials of various countries participated in it. 

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir thanked the guests on behalf of the party for participating in the Iftar. BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir took part in a party public program almost four months after the Mahasambesh Pand in Dhaka on October 28. At that time, Fakhrul brought up to the diplomats the "various issues of repression by the government" including the ongoing movement of BNP. 

He said, 'We deeply appreciate the support of the international community in the struggle to restore rights and freedom. Through which elections can be ensured under a truly non-partisan government. Until we achieve this, the people's peaceful and non-violent movement will continue.'

Mirza Fakhrul said, 'Bangladesh is going through a period of deep political and economic crisis. The state is once again under fascist rule. The world knows that what happened on January 7 was not an election. Rather, the nation's democratic expectations have been insulted.'

The secretary general of the party mentioned that BNP is deeply aware of the inhumane killings of the Israeli forces in Palestine. He said, 'I am calling on international groups and the United Nations to stop the genocide. The two-state strategy can be the solution to this crisis.'

Among the diplomats are British High Commissioner Sarah Cook, Deputy Chief of Mission and Acting Ambassador Charge d'Affaires Helen Lafave of the US Embassy in Dhaka, German Ambassador Akhim Troster, Acting Ambassador of Australia Nardi Simpson, Pakistan High Commissioner Syed Ahmed Maruf, German Ambassador Akhim Troster, India's Deputy High Commissioner Dr. Apart from Binay George, there were diplomats of different countries including China, India, Pakistan, Norway, Sweden, Nepal at the iftar ceremony. Various United Nations agencies, European Union diplomats also participated in BNP's iftar.

After the Iftar and Maghrib prayers, the diplomats also attended the dinner.
