International Desk: Protests are still going on in Iran over the death of a young woman named Mahsa Amini in police custody. So far 244 people have been reported killed in clashes with the police during the protests. This time, protests have been held in Washington, Germany, Berlin, and Tokyo, Japan. Thousands of people participated in these protests on Saturday (October 23).

According to German police, about 80,000 people took to the streets of Berlin in support of Iranian women's protests. Most of the protesters are of Iranian origin. Apart from this, others also participated in it.

During the protest, participants chanted slogans about women, life, freedom and justice for Iran.

Iran has strict veiling rules, including mandatory hijab for women in public. The country's 'morality' police are there to enforce these rules. A team of ethics police recently arrested Mahsa Amini in Tehran. Amini visited Tehran with his family. After being detained, Mahsa fell ill at the police station and was admitted to the hospital. Mahsa Amini died while undergoing treatment. Protests against this incident have been going on in Iran for more than six weeks.

Thousands of people took to the streets of Washington in the same protest on Saturday. Their demands also include demands for more Western sanctions against Iran's powerful Revolutionary Guard. The organizers said that the number of participants in the demonstration in Washington will exceed 10,000.

'It's breathtaking, an amazing situation, the first time so many people have come together,' said one of Iranian origin. I'm really proud'.

Inside Iran, authorities have cut off internet connections in many areas. The police denied that Mahsa Amini was tortured to death. They say he died of a heart attack.

According to Iran's Human Rights Activist News Agency (HRANA), 244 protesters, including 32 children, were killed by security forces. 12 thousand 500 people have been arrested. Most of them are children and youth.

In 2019, there were massive protests in Iran against the increase in the price of fuel. After this, the government of President Ibrahim Raisi is facing such a big protest.
