China needs the whole world: Xi Jinping

International Desk: Chinese President Xi Jinping said that China needs the whole world. Xi Jinping made the remarks after being elected as the country's president for a third term at the 20th Congress of the country's ruling Communist Party.

AFP reported this information in a report on Sunday (October 23).

According to the report, President Xi Jinping spoke to reporters at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing after the Congress of the ruling Communist Party of China. Commenting on the world's need for China, Xi Jinping said, "I would like to sincerely thank the whole party for the trust you have placed in us."

At the same time, he also promised to work diligently in fulfilling his duties to prove the trust that the Communist Party and the people have placed in him.

AFP reports that Xi Jinping was chosen as the country's leader for a third term in a closed-door vote on Sunday after a week-long Communist Party session in Beijing.

Xi Jinping's journey to a third term as China's president is now certain. However, it will be officially announced during the Chinese government's annual legislative session next March.

Xi Jinping took office as the President of China a decade ago. Since then, Xi Jinping has been the only modern Chinese ruler since Mao Zedong to be at the center of power.

According to the press, several changes have been made to the Chinese constitution to strengthen the power of Chinese President Xi Jinping. The new constitution mentions two institutions and two safeguards. It is said to strengthen Xi Jinping's position as well as incorporate his political ideas into the party's policies. The Congress of the Communist Party called for modernizing socialism and establishing China's culture at a higher place.

It should be noted that in China earlier a person could hold the office of president for a maximum of two terms. However, in 2018, that rule was abolished. And in this the 69-year-old Xi Jinping's third term in power for another five years was confirmed in the Congress of the ruling Communist Party.
