Chhatra League leader donates sewing machine-laptop to struggling women with award money in PM's name

Self-reporter: Tilottama Sikder, vice-president of Chhatra League and senate member of Dhaka University, donated sewing machines and laptops to the women struggling on Women's Day with the money of 'Sheikh Hasina Youth Volunteer Award 2022'.

Today, on the occasion of International Women's Day, sewing machines and laptops were provided at the open premises of TSC of Dhaka University.

In his inaugural address, Awami League Office Secretary and Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Barrister Biplob Barua said that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been playing a unique role in the empowerment of women all over the world. Sheikh Hasina is another name for women's empowerment in Bangladesh.

State Minister for Posts, Telecommunications and Technology Junaid Ahmed Palak, who was the chief guest at the event, said, "Everyone talks about the problem, but only the brave show the way to solve the problem." Our Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is such a brave woman. She came to power in 1996 and introduced 60 percent quota for women in primary schools. He announced that women can do this job after passing SSC. '

At that time, Junaid Ahmed Palak said, "Only a woman knows how to run a family for a whole month with a low income. That's why I say a woman is the greatest economist in the world. '

Junaid Ahmed Palak further said, ‘Nowadays I see many people cannot praise their wives in public. Those who can't appreciate girlfriends and sisters are cowards. Those who openly admire their wives, sisters and girlfriends are in fact good men. We all have to look at mother, sister, girlfriend and colleagues with equal eyes. '

At the time, Palak praised the activities of the present committee of the BCL and said to the BCL leaders and workers, "The BCL must advance in science to implement the vision of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in 1941."

Awami League International Affairs Secretary Shammi Ahmed, the keynote speaker, said, "We are the best nation in the world. Who have given women equal constitutional rights. Father of the Nation Bangabandhu and the Prime Minister were always vocal about women's rights. So women have to qualify and move forward. '

Speaking as the special guest on the occasion, BCL President Al-Nahyan Khan Joy said, "We all need to be aware of women's rights. Women are not backward today. They are moving forward equally with men. The real example of this is our Chhatra League leader Tilottama Sikder. '

Speaking as the special guest, Bhattacharya, general secretary of Chhatra League, said, "Women's freedom is not achieved with any quota only in terms of jobs or business." I think it is the freedom of women to give importance to the views of women in the formation of the state starting from the individual level. '

Bangladesh Chhatra League Dhaka University Branch President Sanjit Chandra Das and General Secretary Saddam Hussain also spoke on the occasion.

Other special guests were Awami League central committee member and former acting president Marufa Akhter Poppy and Navana Group CEO Waheed Azizur Rahman. Sewing machines and laptops were distributed among 50 women and 5 meritorious students.
