Metrorail will be in all major cities of the country including Chittagong: PM

News Desk: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said, why only Dhaka? There should be metro rail in Chittagong. There should be Metro Rail from Chittagong Airport to Chittagong Railway Station. There are also metrorails where there are big cities and airports.

The Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) on Tuesday (January 4th) approved 10 projects. The total cost of the projects is 11 thousand 211 crore 44 lakh taka. The ECNEC meeting was held at the NEC conference room in the capital's Sher-e-Bangla Nagar. The meeting was chaired by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. At that time the Prime Minister said these things.

Highlighting the Prime Minister's directives, Planning Minister MA Mannan said the Prime Minister has promised to build a metro rail not only in Dhaka but also in Chittagong in future. We know that preliminary work has already begun. Hopefully, the concerned people will send the metro rail construction project in Chittagong to ECNEC meeting soon. We will approve it too.

He added that where there are big cities, there could also be metrorails in cities that have airports. We will take necessary steps in this regard.
