Launch fire: Two more bodies recovered from Sugandha and Bishkhali rivers

News Desk: The bodies of two more people have been recovered in a launch fire incident in Sugandha river of Jhalokati. The body of a woman (40) was recovered from the mouths of Sugandha and Bishkhali rivers on Wednesday morning. Firefighters also recovered the body of another 35-year-old man from Mankisunder area of ​​Bishkhali river at around 10:30 am.

There are signs of burns on both the bodies. Meanwhile, the two bodies have been sent to Jhalokati Sadar Hospital for autopsy. The bodies of 47 people have been recovered in the incident of fire in the launch. In the last three days, fire service and Coast Guard rescue workers have recovered the bodies of five people including children from Sugandha and Bishkhali rivers.

Meanwhile, rescue operations are underway for the sixth day on Wednesday in the wake of the launch fire at Sugandha river. Fire service and civil defense personnel have been searching at various points of Sugandha and Bishkhali rivers since morning to find the people who jumped into the river to save their lives during the fire. Besides, the Coast Guard has also continued its operations on the two rivers.

The Barguna-bound MV Abhiyan-10 launch caught fire in the Sugandha river in Jhalokati last Thursday night. Many are missing in this incident.
