9 dengue patients admitted to hospital in last 24 hours

News Desk: Nine new patients have been admitted to the hospital in the last 24 hours due to Aedes mosquito-borne dengue fever. Four of them were admitted to government hospitals and five to private hospitals and clinics.

At present, the total number of dengue patients admitted in different hospitals across the country, including the capital, is 90. Among them, 59 patients are admitted in government hospitals and 31 in private hospitals.

According to the Health Department, out of the nine admitted to the new hospital, three were admitted to government hospitals in Dhaka, one to private hospitals and five to hospitals outside Dhaka.

The information came from a press release issued by the Department of Health on Sunday (December 26).

According to the notification, the total number of patients admitted in government and private hospitals of the country till this year (January 1 to December 28) stood at 26,356. This year, 104 people have died due to dengue. Of the patients admitted to the hospital, 26,173 have returned home healthy.

Meanwhile, the total number of hospital admissions from January 1 to December 26 this year was 32 in January, 9 in February, 13 in March, three in April, 43 in May, 282 in June, 2,026 in July and 6,798 in August. 6,841 in September, 5,458 in October, 3,056 in November and 1,135 as of December 26.

In addition, 104 people have died of dengue this year. Of these, 12 died in July, 34 in August, 23 in September, 22 in October, six in November and six in December 26.
