International Desk: Saudi Arabia is receiving state-of-the-art missiles worth ৬ 650 million from the United States. The US State Department has approved the sale of arms to Saudi Arabia. Saudi Arabia is reportedly buying 270 missiles from the Biden administration.

The Pentagon said in a statement on Thursday that the State Department had approved the sale to help Riyadh deal with current and future threats. Increasing the security of allied countries will ensure US foreign policy and national security. In addition, the sale of these weapons will serve as an important force for political and economic progress in the Middle East. The approval comes just months after President Joe Biden called for an end to support for the Saudi coalition in Yemen. The U.S. State Department's Bureau of Political-Military Affairs said in multiple tweets on Thursday that the missiles were not used for ground targets. They also reported an increase in cross-border attacks against Saudi Arabia in the past year.

The missiles can run at a speed of 20 miles and are capable of hitting specific targets. Launched in 1991, the missile has been sold to other US allies, including Qatar, Kuwait and Jordan.
