Meeting in Spain, in memory of those killed in the August 21 grenade attack

Spain Correspondent: A discussion meeting and prayer mahfil has been held in memory of the martyrs of the grenade attack on August 21 at the initiative of Spanish Awami League. This discussion meeting and prayer mahfil was held on the evening of 24th August through virtual.

The meeting was chaired by ASIS Robin, President of Spanish Awami League and chaired by General Secretary Md. Rizvi Alam. SM Kamal Hossain, Central Organizing Secretary of Bangladesh Awami League was the chief guest.

At that time, he said, the attackers of August 15, 1975 and August 21, 2004 were one and the same force. Their main goal is to take Bangladesh back to Pakistan. Their main goal is to kill the independence of the country, to kill democracy. Although 17 years have passed, the nation has not forgotten the horrific memory of the August 21 grenade attack. 24 Awami League leaders and activists were killed and more than five hundred people were injured in that terrible attack. Many of the injured are still carrying grenade splinters and painful memories on their bodies.
 
SM Kamal Hossain further said that Bangabandhu wanted to wipe out the Awami League by attempting to assassinate Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, daughter of Bangabandhu, by launching a grenade attack on an anti-terror rally that day. Is. Fortunately, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina survived that day. We demand the immediate execution of all the killers involved in the August 21 grenade attack.

President of All European Awami League M Nazrul Islam, General Secretary Mojibur Rahman, General Secretary of Finland Awami League Mainul Islam and others were special guests on the occasion.

Speaking as the special guest, M Nazrul Islam, President of the All European Awami League, said that August 15 and August 21 are tied in the same thread. The evil force of fundamentalism has always lagged behind our development. But in spite of all the malpractices of the evil forces, the country is moving forward under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, daughter of Bangabandhu.

Also speaking at the discussion were Spanish Awami League co-presidents Ekramuzzaman Kiran, Sakhawat Hossain Bablu, Anwar Hossain Chowdhury, Joint General Secretary Akhtaruzzaman, Azam Kal, HM Harun Aur Rashid Akash, Belal Ahmed, Organizing Secretary Alamgir Hossain, Tapas Debnath, Iqbal Hossain. Leaders and workers of Awami League including Badrul Kamali, Law Secretary Advocate Tariq Hossain, Publicity Secretary Kamrul Islam, Member Farhana Yasmin, Afsar Hossain Nilu, Tuhin Ahmed and Sumon Ahmed.

Later, a prayer mahfil was held on August 15 and 21, including Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, seeking forgiveness of the departed souls of those killed in the grenade attack.
