Police clash with BNP activists at Chandrima Udyan in the capital

News Desk: Police chased and clashed with BNP leaders and activists at Chandrima Udyan in the capital. The clashes started after 10:30 am on Tuesday (August 18). Meanwhile, BNP leaders and activists were seen throwing bricks at the police. Police were seen throwing tear shells in response. It is learned that several BNP leaders and activists were injured in the incident.

It is learned that the leaders and workers of the newly formed committee of Dhaka Metropolitan North South BNP had a program to pay homage at the grave of BNP founder Ziaur Rahman.

Former footballer and Dhaka Metropolitan North BNP member secretary Aminul Islam claimed that he was injured in the police firing. We came here with permission. I was shot by police.

Meanwhile, during the incident, Dhaka Metropolitan North BNP convener Aman Ullah Aman was seen trying to calm the agitated leaders and activists. He also spoke to some police officers at the time.

DMP Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Thana Officer-in-Charge (OC) Jane Alam Munshi said, "We are present at the spot." I am trying to bring the situation under control. Details will be informed later.
