Four killed in two separate blasts in Afghanistan

At least four people have been killed in two separate blasts in Afghanistan's capital Kabul and the southern province of Kandahar. Nine more people were injured. The dead were all Afghan civilians. Police say the first blast occurred in Kabul around 8am on Saturday. Two people were killed. Four others were injured.

Another blast occurred in Daman district of Kandahar around the same time. So that two people were killed. Five others, including a woman, were injured. Among them are two policemen.

It was not immediately clear who was behind the blast. But police say they are continuing to try to find the culprits.

Meanwhile, frustration has grown within the Ashraf Ghani government since the withdrawal of US troops from Afghanistan began. Because the Taliban are occupying one district after another. Ashraf Ghani is the US-backed Afghan president.

The Taliban are fighting fiercely with the army to retake the districts. The panic is growing among the general public. In the meantime, many civilians have been killed in the bloody clashes between the two sides. Many want this fight to end with a one-sided victory.

The Taliban have recently taken over more than two-thirds of the Afghanistan-Tajikistan border. The Taliban also claim control of 75 percent of Afghanistan.

Two more Taliban attacks, including the Twin Towers, on September 11, 2001, killed nearly 3,000 people in the United States. Al Qaeda chief Osama bin Laden has been blamed for the attack. The United States has since launched an offensive in Afghanistan. More than 64,000 Afghan soldiers and police have been killed in the conflict since 2011. More than 40,000 ordinary people lost their lives. In addition, about three and a half thousand foreign troops were killed.

In this situation, US President Joe Biden recently announced an end to the war in Afghanistan. He said all US troops would be withdrawn from Afghanistan two decades before the 9/11 attacks.
