News Desk: At present, cancer has spread. People are suffering from various types of cancer including brain, breast and liver. Again, many people are being diagnosed with tumors. We often confuse cancer and tumor. There is a difference between the two.

In medical terms, a tumor is an assembly of some abnormal tissue, where the cells multiply in an abnormal process. Tissue means some cells of the same type, while somewhere becoming one and doing the same type of work. This information about the difference between cancer and tumor. Apurba Chowdhury.

"There are trillions, trillions of cells in the human body, not billions," he said. It is estimated that an adult has an average of 30 trillion cells. Inside the cell, according to some rules, old cells die, new cells are born, some grow in cell size, some grow in number. But which cell will die and which cell will be able to give birth to how many new cells, what will be the size of a cell — there are some instructions or rules inside the cell to control all such features of the cell. And those rules are in DNA.

If for some reason this instruction in the DNA changes, the cells begin to give birth to new cells abnormally, the old cells do not die, and the new-born cells move around in vain. Because the cells do not have instructions on where to stop, the direction of what will work changes. Then, under the direction of altered DNA, new cells are born one after the other, like robots, the number of new abnormal cells increases and the work of normal cells is disrupted, the normal process of old cells stops and accumulates in the body like garbage.

When these extra and abnormal cells of the body accumulate somewhere and appear as a lump or pli or disc, then it is called a tumor.

There are two types of tumors. One type of tumor grows in one place and stays in one place. These are called benign tumors. They are not so harmful.

Abnormal cells inside another type of tumor accumulate in other parts of the body through certain chemicals called blood or lymph and disrupt the normal functioning of that part, creating a new tumor there, then called malignant tumor.

This malignant tumor is differently called cancerous tumor. In short, cancer.

Abnormal cells in a tumor can travel to different parts of the body and sometimes become new tumors, sometimes simply disrupting the function of other cells there. While benign tumors that do not spread in this way cause problems to spread elsewhere in the body, those malignant tumors are said to be responsible for most cancers, while the problems they create are simply called cancers. In this case, the organ or part from which the change of cells begins, then it is called cancer of that part.

Again there are some exceptions. Such as: blood cancer, leukemia. In this case, there are more abnormal cells in the blood than normal blood cells do not allow the blood to do its normal work, no separate tumor occurs in the blood.

This means that not all tumors are cancers, some tumors are simply cancers, when the cells in those tumors move to other parts of the body to create more new tumors or work problems. Again not all cancers are tumors, where abnormal cells clot somewhere in the form of tissue. Such tumors do not occur in blood cancer.

Many women may experience lumps or discs or lumps in their breasts at some point in their lives. This extra plexus can only be a tumor. It cannot be mistakenly called breast cancer. This is because doctors, if there is an accumulation of such extra cells somewhere, first do a CT scan or MRI to make sure that it is just a tumor. From there, some cells are placed under a microscope under a biopsy to test the cells to see if they are cancerous. If they see such changes, they can be called breast cancer.

If there is only such a tumor, first with medicine only, then the extra part is removed by surgery and the tumor is treated. If the tumor spreads to other parts of the body, causing more problems in the body, the part where the tumor is located needs to be surgically removed first, or if it is in a state of disrepair, to kill the abnormal cancer cells that have spread to other parts of the body. They try to treat the cancer with chemotherapy with some chemicals and radiotherapy with some rays so that they can no longer increase the number. Now, of course, if someone has a tumor, it is cancer, do not say and do not think.

What to do

At present both have treatment. Having a tumor or cancer does not mean death. Cancer or tumor is a disease or problem like thousands of other diseases in the body. Rather, consult a doctor immediately if you are experiencing any common problems like excessive meat pliers anywhere in the body, abnormal weight loss for many days without any reason, feeling weak for a long time without any reason.
