According to the government's instructions, shops and shopping malls will be open from 10 am to 5 pm from today. The owners have made all kinds of preparations to open shops and shopping malls.

However, despite some doubts about the health rules on the first day, the leaders of the owners' association are hoping that the buying and selling in the shops and shopping malls will continue from Monday (April 26). Meanwhile, the police have introduced a special movement pass to get out of the ongoing restrictions. You have to take this movement pass to go to shops and shopping malls.

A notification issued by the Cabinet Division on Friday (April 23) said that the new directives on conditional overall functions / movement to curb the spread of coronavirus-borne diseases (Covid-19) are a continuation of the new directive. Issued. The notification further said that the management committee of the concerned market / organization will take necessary steps regarding the observance of hygiene rules.

Earlier, an eight-day strict lockdown started from 6 am on April 14 to prevent Kovid-19 infection. The government gave 13 instructions including closing shops and shopping malls during the lockdown. That period ends at midnight on Wednesday (April 21). However, the lockdown period was extended till midnight on April 26 as the corona infection situation did not improve. Meanwhile, the Bangladesh Shop Owners Association demanded the opening of shops and shopping malls.

They raised their demands at the highest level of government in this regard. The government reopened the shops and shopping malls in response to the demands of the shop owners' association. On April 18, the leaders of the Bangladesh Shop Owners 'Association held a press conference at the shop owners' association's office in New Market and demanded the opening of markets, shops and small businesses in compliance with all necessary hygiene norms. From that press conference, the traders demanded that half of the Tk 96,608 crore and half of the Tk 48,354 crore of the two-month salary and bonus of the workers be given to the small traders as loan incentive before Eid.

Besides, it was also demanded that the country be brought under the immunization program within the next three months in order to overcome the overall economic stagnation of the country. In a written statement, Helaluddin, president of the shop owners' association, said traders had suffered financially due to the epidemic in the last one year. When the first corona infection was detected in Bangladesh on March 16, 2020, we shop owners voluntarily shut down everything from March 25. The government declared everything closed from March 26 the next day.

Since then, there has been a severe business downturn and financial uncertainty in the lives of small traders in the country. Earlier, there was a lockdown or restriction from 6 am on April 5 to 6 am on April 14 as coronavirus infection was increasing at an alarming rate. However, this lockdown was largely ineffective, leaving public transport and markets open.
