News Desk: The government first imposed various restrictions from 5 to 11 April to deal with the second wave of coronavirus. Later, the ban was extended for two more days till April 13. During these 9 days, the law enforcement agencies did not show much activity on the highways to implement the government directives to control the movement of people. However, the strict restrictions starting from the first day of the Bengali New Year show the opposite picture of last week. Police check posts across the street.

No one can cross this checkpoint. Everyone has to go there to talk to the policemen in charge. No one was seen crossing the check post without a movement pass on the day. Law enforcers have been in a tough position to implement government directives since Wednesday (April 14th) morning. Very few people have been seen moving on the roads of the capital.

Public transport was not seen. A few private vehicles are running. Last time rickshaws were seen moving on the road, but this time the picture is different. This morning, it was seen that the policemen on duty at the checkpoints set up at different corners of the city were interrogating the citizens outside the house. Shahbagh Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Anumap said, "Our check post has been set up since this morning."

Those who are out on the streets are being checked to see if they have movement passes. Those who are not coming out with movement passes are not being allowed to go. He said that as it was the first day of the lockdown, some people came out without a movement pass.

Those who have gone out for emergency purposes such as hospital purposes are being allowed to go, but on the first day, such a discount is being given. This discount will not be given later. Ramna Zone Senior Assistant Commissioner (AC) SM Shamim said police have started working on the highways to implement government directives to control the movement of people.

Police check-posts have been set up at every important intersection. As soon as they arrive at the check post, they are being asked if they have a movement pass. Many are being detained if the movement does not pass.

How to get Movement Pass-

In case of emergency, the police will give movement passes in 14 classes for moving out of the house. This movement pass will be given in the categories of shopping in grocery stores, raw market, pharmaceuticals, medical work, agriculture, transportation and supply of goods, relief distribution, wholesale or retail purchase, tourism, funeral, business, etc.

Anyone can collect the pass for a specified period of time by visiting the website at movementpass.police.gov.bd and providing the required information. However, each pass can be used only once.

That means you have to collect separate passes for coming and going. The police issue a pass with an online QR code scanner after applying to the mentioned link by filling in the information like name of the person who needs the pass, mobile phone number, national identity card or driving license, name of the place you are going to, name of the place you are going from Will.

By scanning this code, the police officers on duty at the check post will confirm the applicant's information and reason for departure. According to police headquarters sources, a total of six lakh people went to the police website from Tuesday morning to evening to ask for permission to move outside.

Only 60,000 citizens have been able to register for the pass after completing all the steps. The rest could not complete the process as the server did not work at any stage of the registration. Of the 60,000 citizens who have registered for the movement pass, 30,000 have been issued a pass.
