News Desk: Qawmi Madrasa is running among the educational institutions in the Corona epidemic. However, this time the government has instructed to close the madrassas where the coronavirus infection is on the rise. The Prime Minister's Office issued 18 directives on Monday (March 29th) to prevent corona infection.

The directive says all educational institutions (pre-primary, primary, madrasa, secondary, higher secondary, university) and coaching centers will remain closed. Later, State Minister for Public Administration Farhad Hossain spoke about the 16-point directive in the Secretariat.

He said, ‘All educational institutions will be closed for the time being. No students will come there. Not only Qawmi madrasas but all types of madrasas will also be closed. ' Earlier, on August 17 last year, the Qawmi madrasas had appealed to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to start the activities of the book department and give them an opportunity to take exams. On the same day, a board of Qawmi Madrasa and a delegation of the National Religious Madrasa Education Board of Bangladesh handed over the application form to the Cabinet Secretary at the Secretariat.

After that, a notification was issued from the Technical and Madrasa Education Department on August 24 last year to take the degree and master's level examinations which were stuck due to the epidemic, and to open the book department. All other types of educational institutions have been closed since March 16 last year. Although the announcement was made to open primary, secondary, and higher secondary level educational institutions from March 30, it was delayed due to increased corona infection.

Now, as per the decision of the government, the educational institutions up to higher secondary level will be opened on May 23. However, the government had earlier announced that classes would start in the country's universities from May 24 after the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr. The halls of the university will be opened on May 16 with the vaccination of students.
