News Desk: A child student of a madrasa in Sreepur, Gazipur has been allegedly beaten. The parents of the student have lodged a complaint against Muhtamim Mohammad Ali, a teacher of Madinatul Uloom Hafezia Madrasa in Kewa Purbakhand area of the municipality.

The victim was identified as Yasin, 6, son of Mofizul Islam of Kandipara village in Gafargaon upazila of Mymensingh district. His father is a small businessman.

The house of the accused madrasa teacher Mohammad Ali Muhtamim is also in Gafargaon upazila of Mymensingh.

According to the relatives of the victim, the student was admitted to the madrasa about a year ago. The student could not cope with the pressure of studying. As a result, student Yasin could not finish the teacher's reading. Teacher Mohammad Ali beat him on Wednesday morning for not being able to read. She cried because of the beating and went to a relative's house next to the madrasa.

The baby's mother, Sharmin Akhter, said no man could kill an animal in the same way his son had been beaten. I have given the judgment of the madrasa teacher to Allah. The child’s father, Mofizul Haque, said the madrassa teacher apologized to us through the locals and my neighbors.

So I am going home with my son without taking any legal action. The accused teacher Mohammad Ali said that he was not teaching, so he was beaten a bit.

But I did not understand that the matter will become so big.

Sreepur Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Taslima Mostari said the child's parents came on Wednesday afternoon.

They have been advised to lodge a complaint at the police station. Officer-in-charge (OC) of Sreepur Police Station Khandaker Imam Hossain said no one had lodged any complaint in this regard. In case of complaint, action must be taken.
