NCP Names Asif Mahmud for Dhaka North, Patwari for Dhaka South Mayoral Races

News Desk: The National Citizens Party (NCP) has announced its mayoral candidates for the elections to the two Dhaka city corporations. Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan has been named the mayoral candidate for Dhaka North City Corporation, while Nasiruddin Patwari has been named the mayoral candidate for Dhaka South City Corporation.

On Sunday (September 13), NCP Convener and Chief Whip of the opposition Nahid Islam announced the names of the candidates.

He made the announcement at an exchange meeting with potential councillor candidates from various wards under Dhaka North and South city corporations at the NCP office in the afternoon.

During the meeting, he issued instructions on identifying potential councillor candidates, addressing ward-specific civic issues, maintaining regular contact with the families of those killed and injured in July, and keeping a close watch on the subversive activities of the ousted and fugitive Awami League.

The meeting was attended by the NCP-backed potential mayoral candidates for Dhaka South and North city corporations, Nasiruddin Patwari and Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan, respectively; Ariful Islam Adib, convener of Dhaka North unit and senior joint convener of the party; Ishaq Sarkar, convener of Dhaka South unit; and leaders from various levels of the North and South city units.
