News Desk: According to Bangladesh Bank spokesperson Arif Hossain Khan, Bangladesh received US$1.442 billion in remittances during the first 11 days of May.
This means the country recorded an average daily remittance inflow of approximately US$131.1 million, he announced on Tuesday (12 May).
He also stated that during the same period last year, remittance inflows stood at US$922 million, indicating a significant year-on-year increase this year.
From July of the current fiscal year through 11 May, Bangladesh has received a total of US$30.775 billion in remittances, marking a 20.90% increase compared to the same period last year.
Earlier, in April, the country received US$3.127 billion in remittances.
In March, remittance inflows reached US$3.755 billion, the highest amount ever recorded in a single month in Bangladesh’s history.
