Mother’s Simple Request Leads to New Child-Friendly Play Area at Indian Visa Centre

Diplomatic Correspondent: A simple request from a mother has led to a meaningful, people-centric initiative at the Indian Visa Application Centre in Bangladesh.

During High Commissioner of India to Bangladesh Dinesh Trivedi’s first inspection of the Indian Visa Application Centre, a mother made a heartfelt appeal for a safe and dedicated play area where children could stay while their parents completed the visa application process.

Within just a few weeks, her request was turned into reality. The newly established children’s play area was inaugurated today by the same mother who had made the request, as she returned to the centre accompanied by her child.

The initiative, though modest in scale, reflects a broader commitment to making public services more accessible, comfortable and responsive to the needs of people.

The people-centric approach also highlights the importance of placing the well-being and convenience of citizens at the heart of service delivery.
