Egyptian Ambassador Omar Fahmy Attends Graduation Ceremony of Bangladeshi Students Bound for Al-Azhar University, Highlights Educational Ties

Diplomatic Correspondent: Ambassador Omar Fahmy, Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Bangladesh, attended the annual graduation ceremony of students from Dar Al-Aram Institute who are preparing to continue their higher studies at Al-Azhar University, Egypt.

The ceremony was attended by prominent political, religious, and academic figures, along with faculty members and distinguished guests.

In his congratulatory address, Ambassador Fahmy emphasized that the students’ admission to Al-Azhar University reflects the deep-rooted historical and cultural relations between Egypt and Bangladesh. He noted that the graduates will become ambassadors of Al-Azhar’s longstanding mission of promoting knowledge, moderate thought, tolerance, and ethical values.

The Ambassador also highlighted the special attention extended to Bangladeshi students by His Eminence Professor Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, during their meeting, and praised his commitment to ensuring proper support and care for international students.

Ambassador Fahmy reaffirmed that educational cooperation remains a key pillar of Egypt-Bangladesh relations. He noted the commitment of both countries’ leadership to expanding educational opportunities at Al-Azhar University, including the decision to increase scholarships for Bangladeshi students from 12 to 24.

Addressing the graduates, the Ambassador encouraged them to make the most of this opportunity and contribute to their communities in the future while strengthening the bonds of friendship and cooperation between Egypt and Bangladesh.
