News Desk: From now on, it is compulsory to submit birth registration certificate for admission in pre-primary and primary first class. According to the certificate, the registration process for the public examination will be completed. The concerned ministries have been asked to take action as per the decision. This is closing the opportunity to reduce the age of the students in the primary.

It is learned that the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education on January 12 instructed the Director General of the Department of Primary Education to take steps to collect and preserve the birth certificate in case of admission. It said a decision had been taken at a meeting on December 10 last year to address the trend of lowering the age of students outside the policy.

According to the decision, in case of admission in the educational institution, it is necessary to ensure the use of birth registration certificate, preservation and registration during public examination.

The Department of Secondary and Higher Education, the Department of Technical and Madrasa Education, and the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education will provide necessary guidance at the field level to curb the trend of reducing age beyond the policy.

As part of this decision, the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education directed the directorate on January 12. In the light of this, last Monday, the Department of Primary Education gave instructions in the field to collect and preserve the birth certificates of the students. On Wednesday (February 3), Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education Ratan Chandra Pandit said, "We have given necessary instructions to the Department of Primary Education on the matter."

They will implement the instructions. Earlier on January 19, the birth registration certificate of students has been made mandatory under the guidance of the Ministry's stipend scheme for primary education (Phase III). The Upazila Education Officer will solve the problem by contacting the Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) in the areas where there will be problems in this activity.
