More than 50 dengue patients have been admitted to hospitals in the capital in the last one week

News Desk: The number of Aedes mosquito-borne dengue fever patients is increasing in the capital. In the last one week (October 21 to October 28), 52 dengue patients have been admitted to the hospital for treatment. Among them, 46 have been admitted to various government and private hospitals in the capital and six to hospitals outside Dhaka.

The total number of dengue patients admitted to the hospital this month stands at 121. Sources in the Health Emergency Operations Center and Control Room of the Department of Health said this on Tuesday (October 26). According to sources, in the last 24 hours (from 8 am on October 26 to 8 am on October 26), nine more dengue patients have been admitted to the hospital. Two of them have been admitted to the Combined Military Hospital in the capital and seven others have been admitted to various private hospitals. At present, 25 dengue patients are admitted in government and private hospitals.

Among them, there are three in the BGB headquarters hospital, two in the combined military hospital and 20 in the private hospital and clinic. This is the second highest number of dengue cases after 199 dengue patients were admitted in January this year. Besides, the number of dengue patients admitted from February to September is 45, 26, 25, 10, 20, 23, 6 and 47 respectively. The incidence of Aedes mosquito-borne dengue fever has increased in the capital due to intermittent rains over the past few days.

Many are suffering from fever and are going out of the hospital or to the doctor's chambers. Health experts believe that the new outbreak of dengue at this time of coronavirus infection has become a cause of concern for city dwellers.
