No drugs will come to Bangladesh from Tripura: Ram Prasad Pal in Brahmanbaria

Hasan Jabed, Brahmanbaria: Tripura Home Minister Ram Prasad Pal has said that our government is cracking down on drug trafficking. We are also having problems in stopping drugs.

Drug control is possible with the cooperation of the people. However, the minister said that the government of Tripura is also working to prevent any kind of drugs from entering Bangladesh through Tripura. Minister Ram Prasad Pal was confronted by reporters at Nomansland at the Akhaura Immigration Checkpost around 11:30 am on Friday (February 25).

The Minister came to Bangladesh on a four-day visit as a guest to attend a function organized by Friends of Bangladesh to mark the golden jubilee of independence, the birth centenary of Bangabandhu and the 50th anniversary of Bangladesh-India friendship organized by the Rajshahi City Corporation. Is drug cultivation being done near the border of Tripura for smuggling in Bangladesh? Responding to a question from reporters, the minister said, "These are completely closed." But those who are doing these things have done little in secret. We have information that it is being cultivated in some places.

The government of Tripura is working on this. Regarding the closure of Akhaura immigration building and Kasba railway station building due to BSF obstruction, the minister said, "I have heard the matter and necessary action will be taken." Later, the minister left Akhaura for Dhaka by road. At the time, the Assistant High Commissioner of Bangladesh in Agartala Arif Mohammad and Akhaura Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) said. Saiful Islam, Akhaura Immigration Incharge Abdul Hamid welcomed the Minister.
