The Prime Minister called for further strengthening of Bangladesh-Maldives relations

News Desk: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has emphasized on strengthening bilateral relations between Bangladesh and Maldives to increase trade, investment and communication. "We need to enhance our bilateral relations to enhance trade-investment-communication and people-to-people contacts," he said. The visiting Prime Minister made the remarks while attending a state banquet hosted by Maldivian President Ibrahim Mohammed Salih and First Lady on Kurumba Island. Referring to Bangladesh and the Maldives sharing common ground on religious relations, cultural values ​​and development aspirations, Sheikh Hasina said, "We will move forward together from these common grounds in the days to come." The Prime Minister of Bangladesh said, "We believe in prosperity and socio-economic development." When I see thousands of Bangladeshis in the Maldives working together with their brothers and sisters to contribute to the economy of the two countries, it feels good. He also said that Bangladesh and Maldives have set an example of cooperation during the Corona epidemic Sheikh Hasina. He praised the Maldivian president for revolutionizing the Maldivian economy through intercontinental connectivity, green tourism, climate-friendly infrastructure and renewable energy. At the same time, Sheikh Hasina lauded the Maldives for its determination to cope with the adverse effects of climate change and to keep the tourism industry afloat even in the Corona period.

At the same time, the Prime Minister outlined various plans of his government to implement development projects in Bangladesh and transform Bangladesh into a developed country by 2041. He said that the vision of our government-2041, to fulfill the expectations of the people by implementing the dream of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman to build a golden Bengal. Our government is committed to implementing the SDGs within the stipulated time. We are making every effort to implement the Bangladesh Delta Plan with all our might.
