TCB oil started selling at Rs 110 per liter on Sunday

News Desk: Traders have increased the price of edible oil in the country on the pretext of increasing the price in the international market. As a result, bottled soybean oil is being sold at over Rs 150 per liter at retail. In such a scenario, Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB), the government's marketing arm, will sell soybean oil at a fair price in a traveling truck to keep prices stable. Besides, the company is also selling onions, lentils and sugar.

TCB spokesman Humayun Kabir confirmed the information on Saturday (December 4th).

According to TCB, TCB will sell soybean oil, lentils, onions and sugar on Sunday from December 5 to December 28. During the Covid-19 period, TCB will sell these products in 400 to 459 traveling trucks across the country at a subsidized price to ordinary people.

From the truck a buyer can buy a maximum of 2 kg of sugar at 55 rupees per kg, a maximum of 2 kg of lentils at 60 rupees per kg, 2-5 liters of soybean oil at 110 rupees and onion at 30 rupees per kg.
