World leaders are coming forward to solve the Rohingya problem

News Desk: The active participation of world leaders in today's event proves that the Rohingya issue is still at the forefront of global discussions. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina made the remarks at a high-level meeting on the Rohingya issue on the third day of the 7th UN General Assembly.

The meeting was organized by the European Union, United Kingdom, Ireland, OIC, Turkey, Indonesia, The Gambia and Bangladesh. Foreign Ministers of Turkey, The Gambia, Indonesia and Hungary were also present. United Kingdom, Minister of State for South Asia and the Commonwealth. EU Special Representative for Human Rights. Meanwhile, the Prime Minister said the position of Rohingyas in Bangladesh is a temporary matter. Sustainable repatriation as citizens of Myanmar is the only solution to this problem. He called on the international community to continue cooperating in this regard. He highlighted the special role of ASEAN leaders.

Prior to this high-level meeting, the Prime Minister was present as a guest at a high-level meeting on Covid organized by the United States at the invitation of US President Joe Biden. The theme of this high-level meeting was the release of Kovid and the ensuring of health security after Kovid.
Highlighting Bangladesh's success in managing Covid, Sheikh Hasina said the key to Bangladesh's success in tackling Covid was ensuring medical facilities for all, ensuring livelihoods of citizens, especially at-risk groups, and creating a conducive environment for economic growth.

 

He stressed the need to immediately declare the covid vaccine a global resource to ensure effective global vaccination.
